SAN DIEGO – H.G. Fenton Company, one of San Diego County’s largest industrial and multifamily owners and developers, announces that it has formed Fenton Investment Company, a new entity that specializes in providing investment equity for new industrial, office, residential and retail projects.

“Our goal is to invest equity into projects that are synergistic with our ongoing commitment to provide quality places for people to live and work in San Diego County,” said Robert Gottlieb, chief financial officer with H.G. Fenton Company.  “Our knowledge of the marketplace, local capital and closely-held local ownership allows us to be flexible and to make decisions quickly.”

Gottlieb noted that H.G. Fenton Company has already closed its first transaction, an equity investment for 66 new single homes being built by Davidson Communities in 4S Ranch.  “This is a very well-planned community in a desirable and fast-growing area,” he said.  “It met all of our criteria for location, market niche and product type.  We look forward to participating in other projects that add value to the community, and this will include multifamily and commercial projects as well as single family homes.”

H.G. Fenton Company, founded in 1906, brings a long and successful track record in San Diego County real estate. The company owns and manages an industrial portfolio totaling nearly 3 million square feet, and recently broke ground on Fenton Technology Park, a 1-million-square-foot business community in Sorrento Mesa that will provide a variety of high technology, industrial and office uses. H.G. Fenton Company also owns and manages eight apartment communities totaling 2,119 units throughout the county, and is under development on a ninth community called Portofino, the first phase of which opened for occupancy earlier this month.

H.G. Fenton Company offices are located at 7588 Metropolitan Dr. in the company’s Mission Valley Heights project in San Diego.
