H.G. Fenton Company’s EVOC Hillcrest apartment community has been recognized with prestigious awards at the 2023 Icon Awards hosted by the Building Industry Association (BIA). The community received accolades for the Best Use of Technology and Best Overall Marketing Campaign, recognizing the power of innovation and authentic community building in residential development.

EVOC is San Diego’s newest “tech-forward” community located in the heart of Hillcrest, cultivating a vibrant lifestyle for those looking for connection, creativity, and a quality living experience. Featuring 82 apartment homes, EVOC is equipped with cutting-edge technology amenities such as a smart-phone managed control system that allows residents to manage front door, amenity spaces, elevators, and more with the touch of a button.

In addition, EVOC’s dynamic marketing and social media strategy won this year’s Best Overall Marketing Campaign. With a values-focused approach highlighting stories about iconic LGBTQIA+ trailblazers, EVOC reinforces the value of community and belonging. Special recognition also goes to Lead Marketing Manager, Elizabeth Newton, honored with the Marketing Professional of the Year award, for her role in creating marketing materials and social media content that connects with our customers and created excitement about the community. Her efforts directly contributed to the project’s leasing success and achievement of 100% of the homes pre-leased before opening.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by the Building Industry Association for EVOC Hillcrest’s focus on our customer – our residents,” said Mike Neal, President and CEO of H.G. Fenton Company. “Our team reimagined what an innovative living experience in the heart of an historic neighborhood could be, and we created a community that not only provides a high quality of life for residents but reinforces individual expression, creativity, and connection.”
