H.G. Fenton Company Celebrates Big Wins at the 2024 Building Industry Association Icon Awards
H.G. Fenton Company was recognized for industry excellence in two award categories at the 2024 Icon Awards hosted by the Building Industry Association (BIA). The Amp30 North Park apartment community received the award for Best Overall Advertising/Marketing Campaign, while Land Planning and Entitlements Manager Ryley Webb was honored as the Rising Star of the Year.
The BIA Icon Awards, held on September 14, recognize the industry’s most outstanding contributors (builder, trade, and design professionals) who have distinguished themselves by working hard to deliver their best each day for the betterment of the building industry.
Best Overall Advertising/Marketing Campaign – Amp30 North Park
Amp30 North Park, which began leasing in May 2024, received accolades for its outstanding marketing campaign that captured the heart of San Diego’s North Park neighborhood and its vibrant, creative culture. Designed to engage residents in artistic and social lifestyles, the campaign embraces the community’s distinct energy and authenticity.
The innovative campaign has successfully connected with customers and the local community by celebrating self-expression and individuality. The incorporation of raw, nostalgic design elements like concert-inspired artwork and moody photography reflect the living experience residents will enjoy with ongoing local art and music experiences. The campaign has drawn high interest and consistent digital leads and walk-ins, contributing to the rapid leasing of the community despite still being under construction and not having physical tours. The marketing team’s efforts speak directly to the neighborhood’s distinct, creative roots and have established over 15 local business partnerships for this campaign.
“We are thrilled that Amp30 North Park has been awarded for its approach to community-driven marketing,” said Alex Winborn, H.G. Fenton Company’s Vice President of Residential Asset Management. “Our team pushed traditional marketing boundaries to build authentic connections with residents and local businesses. This approach reinforces the neighborhood’s unique culture, and highlights individual expression and creativity. It’s exciting to see our team’s custom approach recognized by customers and our industry.”
Rising Star of the Year – Ryley Webb
H.G. Fenton’s Ryley Webb was awarded BIA’s Rising Star of the Year, an honor given to an individual who has made significant contributions to the building industry with less than five years of experience in the industry.
“Ryley’s recognition as a Rising Star is a testament to his talent and dedication,” said Dave Gatzke, Vice President of Development & Policy at H.G. Fenton Company. “He consistently leads with integrity and expertise, ensuring that we remain engaged with the broader community as our projects move forward smoothly.”
Ryley has demonstrated leadership and adaptability in his role as Land Planning and Entitlements Manager, navigating complex regulatory processes and collaborating with stakeholders to advance key projects across San Diego County. He serves on several BIA boards and committees, as treasurer of the Mission Valley Planning Group, and represents H.G. Fenton Company across multiple chambers of commerce in the region. His commitment to fostering meaningful relationships has made him a valuable leader within H.G. Fenton Company and the wider industry.
